Canine Lab Testing is a veterinarian-owned service that partners with pet-care and enrichment facilities such as doggy daycares, boarding centers, and training programs. We provide evidence-based recommendations for best practices for control and prevention programs to include access to convenient, high-quality fecal testing services for dogs. All laboratory testing is performed by a certified national veterinary laboratory. Test results are provided for environmental monitoring purposes only. No interpretation is provided by CLT. All medical decisions are the sole responsibility of the pet’s primary care veterinarian. We also help our enrichment facility partners to provide a high level of hygiene through education on infection control procedures, awareness of the dangers of zoonoses and procedures to reduce infection risks wherever possible.

If your Pet Enrichment Center has chosen to partner with Canine Lab Testing, Congratulations! We work with facilities that have taken the extra step to seek out evidence-based recommendations on best operational/hygiene support practices associated with keeping the environment safe and limiting and preventing illness from spreading in the group of dogs. As a part of this commitment to healthy hygiene, many facilities choose to include routine fecal screening as part of their efforts to maintain a clean, healthy play environment for the dogs in their care.
Keeping your dog happy and healthy involves many factors. Annual visits with your veterinarian remain the cornerstone of your pet’s health. For many dogs, the enrichment, exercise, and social interaction offered by daycare and pet-care centers can also play an important role in their overall wellbeing.
During your dog’s yearly veterinary visit, please let your veterinarian know that your pet participates in group play. They can provide individualized recommendations for vaccines, wellness screens, and preventive care. This helps keep your dog—and all of their friends—safe and healthy.
Today’s veterinarians are the only doctors educated to protect the health of both animals and people. While two-thirds of veterinarians in the United States work in clinical practice the other one-third play critical roles in environmental protection, research, food safety, and public health. Canine Lab Testing is a veterinarian-owned and operated consulting service that works exclusively with Pet Care Centers in support of their business operations. WE DO NOT OFFER VETERINARY MEDICAL CARE TO PATIENTS. Our role is simply to support our partner facilities to stay informed of best practices and proactive about the cleanliness of their play environment, giving you added confidence in the places where your dog stays and plays. Canine Lab Testing does not replace the role of your family veterinarian. Your family veterinarian is in the best position to discuss with you individual medical care for your dog.
While no one can guarantee any setting will be free of risks, participating in routine screening helps facilities stay informed and address issues promptly when they arise. For example, through the use of fecal testing, facilities can monitor and limit the introduction and spread of disease.[1] As the pet owner, your education and participation will help accomplish this goal.
